Aleta Coleman Realtor ®
Aleta is a native of Colorado and has briefly lived in a couple different states throughout her life, including Oklahoma and Illinois. Her love of Colorado and the Rocky Mountains eventually brought her back to stay. She is the proud mother of two daughters and three grand-children.
At the young age of 18, Aleta became a single mom. It was then that she knew she was going to have to make something out of her life for her and her daughter. At that time, Aleta had a desire to become a police officer. She attended Red Rocks Community College and Metropolitan State University of Denver as a single mother. She attained an A.A.S degree and a B.S.Degree in Criminal Justice and began a successful career in law enforcement for 19 years. During her career as a police officer, Aleta gained valuable skills, insight and wisdom in conflict resolution for various dynamic situations. She was recognized by the Denver Police Department and given the honorary “Life Saving Award” pin after playing a critically integral part in saving a teenager from committing suicide. Having been a police officer, Aleta has a naturally protective and compassionate leadership instinct to stand up for others, including animals, by seeking justice with integrity, accountability and heart.
In 2005, Aleta made the tough decision to leave her promising career in law enforcement and follow her passionate desire to become an entrepreneur and real estate investor with her late dad as her business partner. Aleta’s dad was the one who planted the seed of love for real estate investing in her at a young age. She is highly passionate about all things real estate…the good, the bad and the ugly. She loves handling the challenges and rewards that comes with the territory (no pun intended) and is always seeking innovative ways to make challenging situations in real estate and life, turn out positive. Aleta and her dad acquired a few duplexes and single family homes in the Denver metro area, which Aleta managed as “buy holds”. She’s done light rehab work as well. Her experience in buying, selling and managing real estate brings invaluable insight in servicing the needs of Aleta’s buyers, sellers, investors, friends and family.
In 2009, Aleta decided to pursue yet another passion of hers and it had to do with her love of horses. She moved to Castle Rock and lived on 7 acres where she successfully started a small intimate horse boarding facility and equine co-facilitated coaching program at her home. Furthermore, she created and led a summer youth horse camp, which she not only taught young teens about horse care and riding, but also drug, alcohol and peer pressure awareness. Aleta has always been a nature loving country girl at heart. Don’t be surprised if you see her playing with ponies and dirt. She’s not afraid to get dirt under her nails.
Aleta has a way of thinking outside the box in all situations and is always questioning or challenging conventional paradigms. She believes strongly in continuing education, personal and professional growth and is always striving to be a better version of herself. Her diversified life experience, both professionally and personally, is immeasurably invaluable in what she brings to the table for her buyers, sellers, friends and family. Aleta is also a board member of the Denver Metro Association of Realtors (DMAR) and is excited to serve and partner with her clients needs, wants and goals in real estate with excellence!
